Hi, I’m Alison, and come originally from the south east of England. After a career of 30 years as a scientist in Histopathology, working in the NHS, I, with my husband, 6 Guinea pigs and a puppy moved to the West Highlands in 2005.

I love Scotland! It’s ever changing landscape and colours and textures, and I use these as inspiration in the designs of my crafts.

I have always been creative: making my own clothes, knitting and enjoying embroidery. Once I had settled in the Highlands I made Tartan Bears for Lochcarron Weavers, and knitted for the Handspinner on Skye as my creative outlet.

This took me back into textiles and yarn. The beautiful new vibrant colours of Harris Tweed, batik cottons and fabulous luxury space dyed yarns, I use to represent the colours and seasons of the land and sea scapes.

I enjoy combining colours and textures, I think this is my strength. I love soft, muted colours that merge together producing gentle, calm creations. Sometimes though, a really bright pop of colour is called for, either toning or contrasting colours together and these result in cheerful, eye catching creations.

I use these ideas to make a scarf, shawl, hat or hand warmers / fingerless mittens / wrist warmers both for warmth in the luxury yarns I use, or to bring an accent of colour to an outfit. I create beautiful brooches in gently muted colours or in bright, contrasting colours to make a dress or jacket stand out.

My mind is always full of ideas I would like to try out. I hope you enjoy the resulting products.

Customers should receive their orders in 3-5 days in the UK, with the US and Rest of World potentially a lot longer. Parcels are sent UK 1st class signed, USA international signed and tracked. Delivery charges are per order with this seller. Please note - this sellers's products are not available for shipping into Europe.
