Hi, I’m Elaine. A part-time landscape photographer and B&B owner. Following many visits to Skye and the Highlands, and a 17 year military career, I took early retirement and moved from central London to Skye and set up my B&B, which in turn has enabled me to pursue my passion of landscape photography.

I’m inspired by the drama and unpredictability of our landscapes, coupled with mother nature – big and small – whether it’s the views from my home across to Knoydart, the flora and fauna so abundant in our moors and woodlands or the wide open land and sea scapes bathed in sunlight ….. or sometimes cloud!

I feel blessed to have so many magical places to visit to capture images – it's easy to think you’ve found a good shot – but the weather, evolving seasons and the ever-changing light make photography, and the resulting pictures all the more special.

Sometimes I go in search of something in particular, but the most wonderful moments are when you just happen to be in the right place at the right time and find that perfect shot; my only problem then is to keep my Westie, Maisie, out of the shot!
