Wee Bawbee

Hi, I'm Liz. I was born in Perth, the Gateway to the Highlands, and still live in the house that my parents moved to when I was two.

Since learning to knit at school, and being taught how to crochet by my mum, I have always had a passion for wool and fabric. I take inspiration from my surroundings when choosing colours and textures. I often like to name my items, as they are all unique and individual.

I enjoy involving others in my creations and have fond memories of family camping holidays when I made a blanket and my sisters, their families and my own children each picked out colours from my wool stash for a personal square of their own. You can see the resulting blanket on my profile picture.

I also make flower brooches, phone socks and handbags as well as jumpers.

My favourite place and time to knit or crochet is at the beach, after I have been swimming or body boarding in the sea. During the winter months I retreat indoors to make cards and fairies, as they are more difficult to make outdoors.

I am mum to three wonderful children, all of whom have inherited my creative genes. My husband isn't very creative, although he did make me a valentine card this year, which was sweet, but ssh, it looked like one of the ones that my kids made at nursery.
