Nat Smith Designs

Hi, I’m Nat and I’m an artist and designer from down near Loch Ness in the Highlands of Scotland.

I’ve always loved drawing and creating things. I thrived in all my creative classes in school, especially my design and graphics classes, as I found myself working with more intricate designs and patterns.

I continued this love of all things creative throughout college and then through my years at Edinburgh Napier University where I received my BDes (Hons) Design and Digital Arts. This degree focussed mainly on spacial design or digital art installations and I’d started heading towards a possible career in lighting design. I had an installation at a festival in Edinburgh called The Hidden Door Festival and I even ended up in Shanghai, China for a little bit but, I realised I was much happier with a pen or pencil in hand, doing something crafty than sitting at a computer all the time.

I have been working on my current designs since the summer of 2019 and take most of my inspiration from the world around me. I see Scottish wildlife almost daily and I’m surrounded by many of the things you would identify as being Scottish. The thistle for example, the hardiest plant known also as the flower of Scotland and one which is taking over my garden!

All items are sent via Royal Mail either 1st Class in the UK or International Standard outside the UK. Items should be received within 3-5 working days. International will take longer. Postage costs are per item with this seller.
