Eco Soaps

 Hi, I’m Kathy, and my ‘soap opera’ started near my hometown of Inverness, in 2010. While volunteering in a rural gift shop I discovered Scottish handmade soap for sale, made with olive and coconut oils. I wondered if it would be possible to make my own but using local ingredients? Teaching myself the skills of traditional soap-making and learning about the varying qualities of different oils, I found that a good bar of soap needs a blend of ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ oils. Through trial and error I developed an optimum formula blending coconut oil (hard) with cold-pressed Scottish rapeseed oil (soft). I was delighted to find that customers really appreciated the gentle moisturising properties of Scotland’s rapeseed oil, which is rich in Vitamin E.

The traditional cold-process method which I use has a low carbon-footprint, and retains natural glycerin in the finished soap, which further nourishes the skin.

My product range now includes skin creams and haircare, all made by hand using traditional methods, free from Palm oil and unnecessary chemicals. I also use Scottish oatmeal, locally brewed beer and locally gathered wild nettle leaf. Everything I make is simple, affordable and suitable for sensitive skin.

Plastic-free packaging is used wherever possible.

Orders are sent via Royal Mail First Class post in the UK. International orders are sent via International Tracked and Signed in Europe and International Tracked to America. Shipping charges are per order with this maker.
