Hi, I'm Gael of The Highland Tweedery. I have loved sewing since I was a child. Firstly on my mums antique hand cranked Singer, now I have a selection of machines to suit my every need!
I work from my little seaside cottage in Portsoy, overlooking the Moray Firth, often seeing dolphins from my workroom. My main inspirations are the seasons of the Scottish Highlands, for colours and styles. We can have all four seasons in one day here in Scotland, so we need to be flexible.
I also have a successful business making bespoke tartan bears, making for an international company as well as taking private orders. I started The Highland Tweedery early 2019. The Tweedery runs alongside bear making and gives me an opportunity to showcase other skills.
All the wool tweeds I use are sourced from Scottish businesses in the Borders, Elgin and Brora.
Scotland is at the heart of my business ethos.
Orders are sent via first class post in the UK and via International Standard for International orders. Items will normally be dispatched the next working day. Shipping costs are per item with this seller.
