Statement Sterling Silver Earrings with Amethyst
Make a statement with these ‘one of a kind’ handcrafted silver drop earrings with mouthwatering berrylike amethyst. The maker’s inspiration came from the ferns and wildflowers on the croft near her island home, and they are finished with sterling silver ear wires with flower details.
The creative process to make these earrings included several days of texturing, cutting, sanding, drying and drilling the silver clay, before it was fired. During the firing, the binder in the clay was burned away leaving 925 sterling silver. This was then sent to Edinburgh Assay Office for hallmarking. The maker used liver of sulphur to enhance the texture, and finished the earrings with the addition of the amethyst gemstone and sterling silver ear wires. 925 Sterling silver throughout.
Designed and created in the Isle of Skye. These come gift boxed along with information about the silver making process and the gemstone.
