A rumtopfe is a traditional pot for preserving fruit in alcohol. Fruit is placed in the pot as and when available, sprinkled with sugar on each layer and covered with alcohol. The weight keeps the fruit down under the level of the alcohol. Wait at least ten weeks. Traditionally served as a Christmas compote. Holds 1ltr of liquid.
