Damson Wood Bird on Driftwood

A hand-turned damson wood bird on a piece of bleached driftwood, mounted on a yew wood slice. The damson wood is from the garden, the yew rescued from a firewood pile, and the driftwood is from beach combing.

These items are all hand-turned from natural wood and finished with toy-safe waxes. As every piece of wood is naturally different in colour and in its grain and patterning, every bird sculpture has its own unique 'fingerprint'. No apology is made for blemishes and markings in the wood - these all add to its character. Please note that the birds are not designed for outdoor display and, like all wooden items, should be kept away from direct heat sources.
