Thin Ice

Thin Ice is a needle felted and hand embroidered piece which highlights the impact of melting sea ice and glaciers. 95% of the oldest and thickest sea ice in the Arctic is already gone and glaciers have been melting more rapidly since the early 1900’s. If emissions continue to rise unchecked the Arctic could be free of sea ice in the summer by 2040. This would have a catastrophic impact on wildlife and our weather systems and melting glaciers will cause devastating rises in sea levels and coastal erosion. These are very real threats to wildlife and the human population and we must move towards a cleaner, greener future to redress this balance and protect the planet and our coastal communities.

The picture itself measures 8″ x 10″ it is framed in wide black wooden frame measuring 16″ x 14″ and is ready to hang.
